Starting and ending at the Cafe

The Philadelphia Water Department and community leaders will share demonstration projects that link environmental vision with economic health, and quality of life with the sustainability of our city. Joanne Dahme, Watersheds Programs and Policy Manager for the Office of Watersheds will guide our tour. Our first stop. will be the Water Works Interpretive Center, where Director Karen Young will give us an overview of water systems in Philadelphia. We will then visit the Awbury Arboretum watershed restoration project, the stormwater treatment wetland at Saylor Grove, and the innovative stormwater management program at the Penn-Alexandeer School. The day will begin at the Café with fresh baked muffins and scones, coffee and tea service, and conclude with a two course lunch at Cafe.
